Some more WIPs

Here's a few things I've been doing, so you know I haven't died or anything.

What little more I did of the lost candle thing before I got bored of it and quit.

Lineart for a commission.

A girl I painted when I got sick of trying to figure out hand perspective for the above lineart and decided to distract myself from my obligations.

And a little zombie slayer girl that needs to be finished.

Fish thing compete

Just wanted to post the finished product real quick. Trying to go through all of my PSDs right now before I start anything new.

Not even gonna bother with an intro this time.

This is going to be finished pretty soon. I was inspired by eyeless fish at the zoo. I looked up eyeless fish and found that a lot of goldfish are born without eyes, and I love goldfish soooo.........  Also, some of the color choice is inspired by the process of  Cyril Rolando (AquaSixio).

This was going to be a stylized portrait of Anhura, but I got sick of it and quit.

 And I started this when I was messing around with my new screencap program. I'll post the videos as soon as I finish the piece.

Kay so two more things I'm working on, which almost definitely will be completed.

This, which is getting pretty close to being done. I'll just have to figure an actual background to use instead of the temporary one. And since the background will be a lot lighter, I'll have to adjust the brightness of the skin a bit.

Then there's this portrait of my mom for her birthday, but I have a month until it needs to be finished.

Oh, and also, I did a random golden apple thing from memory cause I was bored and playing with brushes.

Dump

Sorry I've been inactive so long. I'm gonna sort of partially blame that on the fact that I was on vacation for a couple of weeks. Here's some things I've been doing lately.

First, two different progress shots of some AVPS fanart, cause I'm a proud Starkid nerd.

Second, a face I did. :)

Next.....this. Pretty self explanatory, really. Trying that thing again where I sketch it on paper first, then paint over it in PS. Should be quicker and easier to finish that way, I think, cause it gets a lot of the work out of the way. I sketch quicker on paper than digitally, anyhow.

And finally, a quick sketch of Nidria, because why not.

The girl with the tails will probably never be finished. The girl with the orb, on the other hand, I'm actually loving so far.

I know she has no hair. She will, I promise.

Commission Sketch

Nidria WIP

This is the underdrawing for a character portrait I'm working on. It's Nidria from Razia's Shadow (if you don't know about it, please look it up. It's wonderful.). This is my interpretation of her after Adakias destroyed the Lamps and everyone was forced to leave.

Sketch

Here's another silly thing. I just graduated today, and my senior show is over, so I don't know when I'll actually have the motivation to start working on finished pieces again. Maybe in a couple of weeks. Bear with me. I'm enjoying my lack of obligations.

So after a really long time without posting anything, all I have for you today is a stupid sketch. Please don't ask me what it is. I have no idea what I was doing. I was just completely unmotivated to work on my bigger projects. So I did this.

More Progress

Here's a newer progress shot of Marques's portrait. This one will be done soon, and Courtney's is coming up right after. Then it's Marty. Then either Natalia or Angie.

Commissions are closed, btw.

I forgot I had to let you guys know that I won't be accepting commissions again until after the show. There's too much work that needs to be done right now, and I can't have people relying on me for finished products within a reasonable amount of time at the same time that I have to finish my piece for the show.

That said, I won't be accepting portrait requests, either. I know I've already said that, but I think it needs to be repeated.

I just kind of realized that this grid thing is going to take more planning than I thought, since not all of the portraits are going to be the same size and shape. I'm gonna have to rework the layout of this thing, so I'm not sure how many portraits will actually be included in the final piece. Everyone that I mentioned in the list earlier will still have a portrait done of them, though, no matter how many of them I'm actually going to need. There is also a chance that I'll need more faces, and if that happens, it will be sort of a first come first serve request thing. But not yet.

Again, don't be offended if your portrait isn't chosen in the end. It just means that yours didn't "match" the others, if that makes any sense. It's 5 AM, so it probably doesn't make sense, so if you don't understand, you can ask me and I'll explain it to you better.

Senior Show Piece

So there's not gonna be any art in this post, but I wanted to give you guys an update. The senior art show is coming up soon, and I think I've decided on what I want to do. I'm going to put together a grid of portraits that I've done. The people whose faces I'm thinking of using are as follows:

Not everyone is guaranteed a spot, and my closest friends take top priority. I don't want anyone to be offended if their portrait doesn't make it into the final piece, as the final decision will be largely based on which portraits look best together.

On an unrelated note, I wanted to thank everyone who follows this blog. I know there aren't many of you, but to know that there are people who actually go to the trouble to read all of my posts makes me so happy. Lately I've been starting to gain fans from different places around the world, and it gives me hope that someday people might recognize my work and that I might be able to make a living off of this someday. I love all of you and I want you to remember that.

Okay, so comments about this piece. This is Anthony, first off.

The shirt made me wanna shoot myself in the foot cause it was so textured in the original photo, which is why I kinda halfassed it here. I also halfassed the background cause I hate doing backgrounds, and also the ceiling lamp was stealing too much focus so I had to paint that out. Aside from that, this was fun to do. It's a little bit looser than my other portraits cause I didn't feel like using my blending brush for this one, but I think it works better that way. Also, I didn't remove the underdrawing before I flattened the image, so you can still see that there a little bit.

WIP/Sketch Dump

I haven't finished anything significant over the past couple days, but I did a hell of a lot of sketched/painted little things and unfinished started things, so here you go..

These ones are quick finished things. I kind of did something different with these ones, and drew the lines on paper and painted under (or over) the lines in photoshop.

For this one, I actually traced over the lines in photoshop cause they were so messy.

 The rest are all unfinished pieces or works in progress.

And these are all older pieces that I never got around to finishing.

And just for the hell of it, here's what I did for an English assignment in which we were to depict Milton's description of hell in Paradise Lost. I'm too lazy to find the quote from the story that describes this scene. Sorry.

Working traditionally again?

Maybe...idk. I've definitely decided to start practicing painting with acrylics again, since it's been so long since I've actually painted, and I'm kinda rusty. So this is what I've done today, both referenced from stock photos.

Another G.A. related thing WIP

Since I've started up my G.A. Project again, I was inspired to paint this cyborg/test tube baby thing, even though it's not exactly related to the story. I like to think of it as something GAI could possibly be doing in the background, or in a sequel, or something post CIT. Or something. So here's the work in progress.

Kelsey Portrait

Here's my long, long awaited portrait of Kelsey Rakes. <3

The last three portraits will be for Courtney, Marques, and Anthony, because I promised them portraits a lonnggggg time ago. If anybody else wants a portrait done, it's going to cost $20. Give me $50, and I'll print it for you. $70 to have it printed and framed, and $90 to have it printed, framed, and mailed. I doubt that anyone will care much for the last one, though, since I pretty much see all of you every day. Payments must be made in cash, and prices are subject to change since I kind of just came up with them off the top of my head. I might raise the prices depending on how much it will actually cost to have the image printed and/or framed and/or shipped.

Marni Portrait

So I saw this chick's picture on Facebook, and I was automatically just like, "ZOMG MUST PAINT PRETTY THING!!!!111!!1" Not that Marni Charnow is a thing. She is very pretty, though. See?

Actually, it didn't go down like that. I actually saw her picture on Thursday, had a dream about painting it, then woke up and was all like "ZOMG MUST PAINT..." Yeah. You get it.

WIP Jellyfish Poop

Here's a little WIP poop I'm working on. :) I like jellyfish a lot. I keep meaning to do something like this, but this is the first time I've liked the composition enough to continue with it.

Fudge Grahams Cure Artist's Block

I decided to see how long I could hold a fudge graham in my mouth before being overwhelmed by the urge to eat it. Answer was, not very long, but it gave me something to draw for a bit. Doesn't look a lot like me cause I rushed through it, but whatever. Here you go.
